SummaryUnit Description: TheWomen's Oncology Unit at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore is a 29-bed surgical oncology unit with a focus on GYN malignancies. We care for a large variety of oncology patients, including male patients with solid tumors, orthopedic cancer and hematologic cancers amongst others. With a large, complex post-surgical population, this setting will allow the development of strong assessment, intervention and communication skills. Team Members also cares for patients who develop complications from their disease and complications from complex chemotherapy; during their stay, here you will develop strong relationships with both patients and their families. Capable of developing and/or advancing post-operative, oncology and chemotherapy skills.
Summary: The Assistant Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability and serves in a supportive role to the unit Nurse Manager. This role has responsibility for daily coordination of resources to ensure quality service to all customers reflecting the mission, vision, and values of Sinai Hospital and the Department of Patient Care Services.
- Provides unit-level supervision, direction, and coordination of operations to ensure achievement of department-specific goals and objectives.
- Assist Nurse Manager with the preparation and management of unit operations/capital budget. Assist with monitoring financial expense variance reports for staffing and supplies
- Leads and supports initiatives around ensuring successful unit and hospital clinical performance.
REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Nursing, (BSN)
- 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience is preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
- Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association CPR Certification, PALS & ACLS within 6 months of hire (if applicable)
