Position Overview:
Supervises and oversees all nursing activities of patient care in an inpatient setting, ensuring consistent delivery of high-value quality care to all patient populations served. Establishes work priorities, and assists staff in resolving operational issues/problems. Implements and enforces adherence to inpatient department, affiliate, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies and procedures, the Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and applicable laws and regulations Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices, using Lean or other process improvement methods and concepts. Collaborates with others to coordinate services, streamline and standardize work flows and procedures, and/or drive positive outcomes.
Plans, develops, coordinates and directs the operation of a clinical nursing program. Oversees the execution of procedures and adherence to proper protocols and develops and/or administers performance improvement initiatives for the program. Assumes responsibility for program quality and compliance, and the education and competency of nursing staff. Serves as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, patients and other members of the health care team regarding the program. Provide direct patient care as needed, on an irregular basis

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years recent relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of operations and workflows and how department's process/workflow impacts other flows or departments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable local, state, federal and other health care laws, regulations and requirements - e.g., TJC, Medi-Cal, Medicare.

  • CLINICAL PROGRAM COORDINATION.
    • Collect and track patient care quality metrics, advising on gaps in certification measures
    • Identify and implement protocols designed to satisfy the accreditation and certification requirements (as applicable) of the program
    • Real time monitoring of patient care to ensure clinical practice guidelines and timelines are followed throughout the continuum of care
    • Provides input to patient assessment processes and treatment care plans for the patient population and suggests/drafts revisions to or devises new policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
    • Responsible for the implementation, integration and clinical support for quality assurance, performance, performance improvement and risk management activities of the program
    • Acts as a resource for members of the interdisciplinary team on care and protocols to promote positive outcomes for patients.
    • Coordinates and supervises nursing standards of practice for patients and manages data reporting including program survey participation, monitoring of key performance measures, staff competencies and continuing education as well as protocol/ guidelines oversight

Pay Range is $207,750.40 to $290,825.60 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
