The Assistant Plant Manager actively manages the day-to-day activities inside the plant such as planning production, ensuring trucks are loaded, and assigning tasks to the 8 direct reports while building a safe environment to work in. Additionally, this role focuses on creating an environment where safety is the number 1 priority, followed by ensuring a top of class service level to our internal and external customers.
  • Planning daily production to advance performance and efficiency and meet customer expectations.
  • Promotes a strong safety and compliance culture correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay.
  • Review reorder point levels and make the necessary adjustments if required.
  • Champion and guide adherence to company policies and safety regulations for all workers.
  • Order all necessary parts and equipment related to the good functioning of the plant. Support and coordinate a team of 8 contributors (5 fillers and 3 loaders).
  • Communicate daily with the logistics manager on production issues or potential run outs.
  • Trains new workers and cross trains employees to continue production during personnel shortages.

Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred education: College degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering.


Required Length & Type of Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working in a leadership role within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Prefer prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis and gas lab equipment.
  • Prior experience utilizing SAP preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communication skills that ensure a smooth flow of information between self and others through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction.
