Position Overview

The Assistant Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one of the House's largest divisions. As part of this role, the Assistant Executive Director will supervise program managers, ensure the delivery of high-quality direct services, management and coordination of a comprehensive community behavioral health delivery system; oversee the division's government contracts, and collaborate with the House's finance and operations staff to ensure the effective use of the division's human and financial resources. The Assistant Executive Director will think strategically about the division's direction, creating new way ways to enhance programs and generate revenue. This person will report directly to the Executive Director and function as a key member of the House's senior management team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead/oversee behavioral health programs at multiple locations, ensuring high-quality, patient centered care.
  • Perform regulatory/compliance functions to ensure adherence to City/State/Federal requirements, including OMH, OASAS< Medicaid standards
  • Lead program expansion/service redesign/grant development/new initiatives to address emerging community needs
  • Provide clinical supervision/consultation, including intervention in high-risk/urgent situations to ensure delivery of safe/clinically sound mental health services
  • Promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive and evidence-based practices across programs/services
  • Represent agency at community events and build/maintain partnerships with nonprofit organizations/community stakeholders/service providers.


Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field
  • Minimum of one year work experience managing community mental health counseling programs/clinical services in NYS
  • Expertise in program management, strategic planning, community health initiatives and clinical supervision
  • Familiar with NYS behavioral health service systems, City/State/Federal regulatory requirements and OMH/OASAS/Medicaid standards
  • Strong skills in CBT/DBT/person-centered treatment modalities.
  • New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).


Salary Range: $125,000 to $149,000

Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, and 12 paid agency-wide holidays.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
