OverviewOur Distribution Engineers are goal-oriented who support our Transmission & Distribution electrical design group. They contribute to teams in the delivery of mechanical systems, electricalsystemsand substation solutions through planning, engineering,& design. They are responsive, proactive,solutions-orientedprofessional, working collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Through exposure to management of projects, learn how to meet client expectations for technical excellence,budgetand schedule.
- Build skills to follow and be responsive to project budgets and schedules; learn toidentifydepartures from the projects defined scope of work.
- Learn to coordinate all design work with other team disciplines.
- Increaseproficiencyin relevant design, modeling, and pole-loading software applications such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, orCymcap, as well as business applications including Microsoft Office.
- Design, manage plan production by staff, andassistin production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
- Learn best practices in interpreting and applying client, company, and field standards as needed.
- Increase knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
- Increase knowledge ofappropriate electrical, building mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Collaborate with teams on manydifferent typesof projects that develop service lineexpertise: Gas Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevantfieldsuch as Civil or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Masters degree inan appropriate field- Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering. (Preferred)
- EIT license (Preferred)
- 1+ years of experience withappropriate design, engineering, and modeling softwareapplicationsuch as Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, orCymcap, as well as some knowledge of PLS-CADD
The pay range for this California position is $40.00- $42.50 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
