Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine as a Strategic Sourcing Assistant Director at our Hyde park location. This position is a fully remote position apart from onsite meetings.

JOB SUMMARY
The Strategic Sourcing Assistant Director is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to achieve best total value for the company including supplier relationship management, negotiation and supply base performance management. This position also supports purchasing activities through the new product development process including supplier identification, qualification and selection.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Leads Strategic Sourcing process and sourcing pipeline tracking for assigned categories.
  • Directs Supply Chain involvement in Value Analysis Team.
  • Coordinates supplier support of VA Teams.
  • Drives lean supply chain integration.
  • Creates RFQ/Proposal analysis and recommendations.
  • Negotiates contracts and maintains contract files in Documentum System.
  • Identifies, evaluates and selects preferred suppliers.
  • Develops and manages strategic relationships with preferred suppliers.
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality and cost.
  • Executes supply chain Risk/Disaster Plan and Recovery process and policies.
  • Manages major 3rd party contracts.
  • Leads supplier EDI/EFT enablement.
  • Performs other duties assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of eight (8) years professional experience and advanced knowledge in supply chain.
  • Typically requires a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean training, certification or demonstrated hands-on experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in cross functional Strategies sourcing or Value Analysis teams.
  • Able to identify and manage projects from concept to implementation and successfully drive project results.
  • Expertise in integrated business process improvement, value stream map and total cost of ownership, and performance management with Gap Analysis and follow-up.
  • Able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best practices in strategic sourcing for multiple categories and suppliers.
  • Able to utilize business and market data to identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities.


LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Requires CPPC, CPIM, CSCP, CPC/M or other purchasing/materials certification

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
