Overview

To support the mission of Helio Health, Inc., the Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for assisting with the planning, development and execution of the RCM department functions, utilizing agency resources to maximize revenue while maintaining full compliance with all federal and state regulations. The Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle Management is charged with interpretation of patient insurance coverage and regulations and applying statutory and regulatory requirements to the revenue cycle processes.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

 

 

Working Relationships:

  • Receives supervision from the Director of Revenue Cycle Management and maintains consistent communication with supervisor, as well as the Chief Revenue Officer, regarding content of workload and department functioning.
  • Plans and coordinates with RCM Managers and Program Directors to ensure timely, professional and efficient processing of client accounts, billing and revenue collection.
  • Works with Contracts Director and RCM Systems Administrator, and H.I.T. Administrators in maintaining current information in RCM functions within the systems.
Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Director supervises assigned leadership within the RCM Department.
  • Maintains current knowledge of legislation, regulations, NYS State Guidance Documents and rulings relative to Insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare, and the application of OASAS, OMH and DOH program regulations on billing.
  • Support the RCM Director and CRO in the interpretation and implementation of regulations to ensure proper verification of information and collection of documentation, accurate assessment of need and aid eligibility, aid disbursements and preparation of fiscal reports.
  • Provides the design, development, and administration of automated billing systems and electronic processing of patient account data.
  • Ensures that records are maintained and accessible in accordance with audit requirements and federal/state regulations; provides detail for response to audits and program reviews.
  • Coordinates the authorization of services with Insurance Providers and clinical staff.
  • Research data, compiles statistics, and provides detail for a variety of reports and responds to questionnaires from outside agencies.
  • Assists with training of RCM staff and monitors performance.
  • Develops and monitors Key Performance Indicators and associated Metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Participates in development of an annual operating budget in support of departmental and division plans and objectives.
  • Completes special assignments as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Finance, Education or Administration Experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in RCM system operation, Medicaid billing, CPT, ICD10 and other coding required.
  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role, including supervision of staff, and expertise in the design, development and administration of automated billing systems and electronic processing of patient account data preferred.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate sound Judgment, have excellent communications and problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent understanding of Medicaid and third-party claim procedures for electronic claims.
  • Excellent ability to work effectively with clients, the professional community, and coworkers.
  • Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to be flexible and pivot based on department priorities.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with a basic knowledge of health care billing systems, and proficiency in Excel and other applications.
