ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKSThis leadership position plays a key role in the management of the City's Public Works Department and is responsible for directing the activities of the Engineering Division while assisting the Director in the administration and daily operations of all departmental divisions.
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and overseeing the operation and maintenance of the City's transportation infrastructure, stormwater systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and solid waste services. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, supervise personnel, manage capital improvement projects, coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies, and help ensure the efficient delivery of essential public services to the community.
The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of municipal public works operations and modern civil engineering principles related to the design, construction, maintenance, and management of public infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred
