Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing daily nursing operations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This leadership role plays a critical part in maintaining high standards of care, staff performance, and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department
- Support the DON in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and survey readiness
- Review nursing documentation to ensure accurate and timely charting of treatments, medications, and resident conditions
- Conduct daily rounds to observe resident care, engage with nursing staff, and address concerns proactively
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team regarding resident care and condition changes
- Assist the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator with MDS assessments, RAPs, triggers, and care plan revisions
- Support staff education, competency validation, and performance improvement initiatives
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities
Qualifications- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Minimum of one year of RN leadership experience in a long-term care setting
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to quality care and regulatory compliance
