Duties & ResponsibilitiesScope of ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision of the Director, provides weekday, weekend and holiday coverage for the office of the Administrator on Duty (AOD). The AOD represents the Executive Director and cabinet level leadership during off-tour operations.
Major Duties:- May be required to cover nights, weekends and holiday shifts.
- Collaborates effectively with AOD colleagues:
- Handoff of significant hospital-wide, patient and visitor concerns.
- Communicates with Nursing ADNs and Senior Leadership as needed.
- Resolve conflicts involving patient, family, visitors, staff and external agents.
- Serve as first line on-call for problem resolution.
- Responsible for coordinating Incident Command Center activities during HICS disaster alert whether virtual or actual. Activates Incident Command Center for internal or external disasters, in conjunction with Executive Leadership.
- Responsible for hospital operations outside of normal business hours.
- Serves as on-site liaison with senior management and departmental administrative staff.
- Onsite liaison to Risk Manager for significant patient safety concerns and issues containing legal implications.
- Onsite liaison for media inquiries under the direction of the Public Affairs Department.
- Onsite liaison with H+H Leadership as necessary and appropriate.
- Responsible for engaging the Administrator on Call (AOC) for senior level guidance and support, as a means of escalating challenging situations.
- Ensures safety and continuity of hospital operations outside of normal business hours through material, equipment and labor resource management as necessary and appropriate.
- Facilitates external agency operation onsite when appropriate.
- Ensures timely patient flow (admissions, discharges, and inter-facility transfers)
- Responsible for facilitating management huddles to ensure effective communication and resolution of ongoing and significant issues involving hospital operations.
Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration,
health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or
2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in "1" above,
and one (1) year of administrative experience; or
3. An equivalent combination of training, college education and experience in related fields.
