Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Assistant Director (AD) oversees implementation of all aspects of SUCAP's daily operations and staff administration. They work with the management team to plan for and ensure SUCAP's compliance with NADAP standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations. The AD is responsible for strategic staff planning, overseeing recruitment and employee performance standards/administrative issues. They are responsible for department-wide compliance with quality standards by monitoring quality management activity, querying, evaluating and reporting on performance standards for program. The AD oversees all off-site operations, acting as liaison to vendor Directors, evaluating and reporting on operations and staff performance, as well as CASAC utilization at sites, and department-wide customer service initiatives. The AD will possess strong presentation, public-speaking, writing, and training skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversee department-wide daily operations.
  • Manage a team of supervisors. Train and provide continuous development to the supervisory team, ensuring that operational protocols are documented and followed, and that program standards are applied consistently.
  • Develop, utilize, analyze, and report on statistical data for assigned sites, including performance measures.
  • Monitor all Quality Management activity, upholding QM standards for the department. Conduct bi-weekly meeting with Supervisor team, reporting on QM review results, and statistical data including assessment outcomes and outliers.
  • Oversee off-site operations, managing clinical/administrative activity, and uphold quality standards for department.
  • Act as SUCAP representative to NADAP HR Department for routine HR functions, including recruitment and retention; coordinate performance and appraisal process.
  • Implement and oversee NADAP's customer service standards, including monitoring of client flow, client wait-time, and client surveys.
  • Create and deliver staff training in areas identified for improvement, as well as oversee staff training processes, and assist in identifying staff development needs.
  • Liaise with HRA managers to support HRA's mission and facilitate optimal client services. Assist Director with budget development and management.
  • Create/update department Resource Manuals for assigned units; participate in research projects, initiatives, and other projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred; CASAC, LMSW, or LMHC preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising teams, with at least 2 years of experience managing people supervisors.
  • 7+ years of social or human services experience, preferably working with a similar population.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform quality management review, performance feedback and business decisions.
  • Able to travel to partner and funder sites throughout New York City, as needed.

Work Schedule: Full-time onsite near Union Square in Manhattan

Compensation: $90,000-$95,000
