WHO WE NEED

We're looking for an leader to oversee and continually elevate the coaching experience at Breuckelen Athletic. This is a role that requires business development thinking, data and analytics experience as well as people management.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of coaching at Breuckelen Athletic by developing coaches, advancing programming, implementing new technologies, building scalable systems, and creating new ways for members to experience health and performance.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to build a coaching department not simply manage one. As Breuckelen Athletic continues to grow, you'll play a key role in defining how coaching, programming, and innovation evolve together to create one of the industry's leading training experiences.

This role be responsible for ensuring every member receives an exceptional coaching experience while building a coaching team that consistently delivers on our philosophy, standards, and values. This individual will establish the systems, processes, and expectations that allow our coaching department to thrive as the company grows.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role that blends coaching, mentorship, programming, operational excellence, and strategic thinking. You'll spend time coaching members, developing coaches, refining systems, improving programming, and partnering with leadership to continue building one of the premier coaching environments in New York City.

We're also looking for someone who is excited by the intersection of coaching and technology. As Breuckelen Athletic grows, this leader will help identify, implement, and optimize the platforms and systems that support coaching excellence, improve the member experience, and create scalable ways of delivering world-class service.

Whether it's programming software, AI tools, member engagement platforms, performance tracking, recovery technology, or operational systems, this person is energized by leveraging innovation to improve both the coach and member experience.

This person should be equally excited by coaching clients and coaching coaches.

This salaried full-time role that reports directly to ownership and will play a significant role in shaping the future of Breuckelen Athletic.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Coaching Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the coaching staff through regular observation, feedback, continuing education, and performance reviews.
  • Establish and maintain coaching standards that create consistency across every member experience.
  • Foster a collaborative coaching culture built around continuous learning, accountability, humility, and professionalism.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of coaches.
  • Identify future coaching leaders and create development plans for career progression.
  • Lead regular coaching meetings, education sessions, and hands-on development opportunities that continuously raise the quality of coaching across the organization.


Programming & Performance
  • Own the overall programming philosophy and ensure consistency across private, semi-private, specialty, and future training offerings.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve programming methodologies using current evidence, member feedback, and practical coaching experience.
  • Review member programming for quality, progression, and alignment with Breuckelen Athletic standards.
  • Develop systems that allow programming to remain individualized while maintaining consistency across the coaching team.
  • Lead internal education around programming, movement assessment, coaching methodology, and member communication.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize technology platforms that improve programming quality, coaching consistency, and member outcomes.
  • Partner with leadership to identify emerging technologies, AI tools, and digital solutions that enhance coaching workflows, education, communication, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop scalable coaching systems that enable coaches to deliver highly individualized experiences while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Continuously refine the coaching technology stack, ensuring platforms are effectively adopted, documented, and integrated into daily operations.


Member Experience
  • Maintain your own coaching roster while serving as the standard for coaching excellence.
  • Partner with coaches on complex member cases, assessments, and programming decisions.
  • Ensure members receive an exceptional and consistent experience regardless of which coach they work with.
  • Monitor member engagement, retention, progress, and satisfaction while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct consultations, assessments, and introductory sessions for prospective members when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Operations & Member Experience leadership to continually improve the member journey from initial inquiry through long-term membership.


Business Operations & Innovation
  • Partner with ownership to develop new coaching services, specialty programs, educational offerings, workshops, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Champion innovation across the coaching department by identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows, member offerings, and coaching delivery through technology.
  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of coaching software platforms, operational systems, and digital tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate and launch new technology-enabled services and member experiences that support the continued growth of Breuckelen Athletic.
  • Build and refine Standard Operating Procedures related to coaching, programming, assessments, technology, and member care.
  • Establish best practices for adopting new technologies, ensuring consistency, accountability, and long-term success across the coaching team.
  • Track departmental KPIs including coaching utilization, member retention, coach development, programming quality, and member satisfaction while making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and long-term organizational growth initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Combined 6+ years of professional coaching AND business leadership experience.
  • Strong experience implementing processes, business thinking and/or managing staff in a consumer facing role.
  • Strong experience leveraging technology to build solutions and touchpoints that are consumer facing. (Experience with UX/UI, AI, Product Management or Data/Research is required)
  • Strong data and analytics experience, particularly to build systems, process and tell a story for internal and external purposes.
  • Demonstrated success coaching a wide variety of clients across ages, goals, and ability levels.
  • Strong understanding of strength training, movement assessment, long-term athletic development, recovery, and individualized programming.
  • Experience developing programming systems for varoius types of training and programming offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational processes or implement systems that enhance coaching quality and efficiency.
  • Nationally recognized coaching certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business, Exercise Science or related field preferred. Can be substituted for appropriate work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in hospitality or premium service environments is a plus.
