Job Summary:

The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for helping the Corporate Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of a company, ensuring everything is done correctly. This role is crucial in helping to ensure that the company's financial records are accurate, compliant with regulations, and effectively managed to support decision-making at higher levels of the organization. The Assistant Corporate Controller also helps ensure the company has efficient and effective accounting systems in place.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), depending on the location requirements.
  • Aid in the process of developing annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with other departments to ensure financial projections.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or errors in financial reporting.
  • Help with the oversight of day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all financial regulations and tax laws, working with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
  • Provide financial analysis to help management understand business performance and make strategic decisions.
  • Handling preparation for tax returns.
  • Aid in the renewal of business licenses, filing of annual reports, and personal property tax assessments.
  • Competent with financial software and technology.
  • Mentor the accounting teams, providing leadership and ensuring continuous development of staff.

Requirements and Qualifications:
