Elevate & Thrive: Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads staff and functions of corporate accounting, accounts payable, and retail audit.
  • Provides work direction, assigns tasks, oversees processes, and ensures compliance with GAAP and other pertinent regulations.
  • Coordinates the monthly financial closing process, ensuring that all entries and accruals are accurately reflected in financial reports; review financial data for accuracy and proper classification.
  • Generates and distributes financial reports to management and the Board of Directors, requiring a strong understanding of company operations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Maintains the company's system of accounts and records for all transactions and assets; oversees the chart of accounts, fixed asset system, and capital reporting process.
  • Documents and updates operational process and procedures for the Corporate Finance department to support consistency and compliance.
  • Monitors daily cash activity and general cash management to ensure optimum investment levels; oversees bank balances.
  • Manages accounts receivable processes to accelerate cash receipts and ensure proper and timely disbursements.
  • Prepares and manages GASB 87 and GASB 96 entries to ensure compliance.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly and quarterly variance analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Leads financial process improvements and supports enterprise-wide transformation projects, including ERP implementation and optimization
  • Collaborates closely with the Payroll function to ensure accounting alignment.
  • Interviews, selects and promotes team members; provides training and development to ensure strong team performance; mentors and develops team members to support individual growth and overall team effectiveness; completes annual reviews and proactively managers team member performance; fosters a collaborative and accountable work environment.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and 2+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards.
  • Skilled in implementing financial reporting best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and financial system improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop staff, and build an engaged, high-performing accounting function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing organization.
  • CPA preferred
