Responsibilities

  • Supervise the General Ledger Department's activities.
  • Maintain corporate general ledger and allocate resources to subsidiary facilities.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams on transactions.
  • Assist with year-end and state audits, including Medicaid and property tax.
  • Review monthly financial packages, ensuring accurate consolidations and reconciliations.
  • Prepare project reporting for profit entities, HUD mortgages, and regulatory matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support financial operations.

National Health Care Associates, provider of high-quality long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services with skilled nursing facilities in the Northeast U.S., is seeking anAssistant Controllerto join our team at our corporate office in Valley Stream, on the border of Queens and Nassau County. What You'll Do: ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, LEADERSHIP: Assist in Supervising the GL Department Direct responsibility for maintaining corporate general ledger and allocations to subsidiary nursing home facilities. Collaborate with AP, AR, and Payroll departments for all related transactions. Work with Year-end & State Audits (Medicaid, Sales Tax & Property Tax). Review of Monthly financial package including consolidations of operations, intercompany reconciliations, B/S updates, income statement analysis, and key account analysis. Project reporting for-profit entities, HUD mortgages and other regulatory reports. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: EDUCATION and MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. CPA certification and/or MBA is a plus. Minimum ten years and/or progressive experience in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration positions in a multi-site skilled nursing company, Hospital/Health System, Home Care or other Health Care Provider organization. Highl proficiency in Workday required. High proficiency in Excel to include Pivot Tables, V & H lookups, required. Strong and direct technical accounting, for-profit reporting skills required. Strong General Ledger management and support system experience. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts.
