Full Job Description
Summary:

The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Corporate Controller in the Finance Shared Services department of SJC, and will assist with all corporate finance and shared service operations, while working as a dynamic strategic partner with the leadership team and business operators. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the strategic financial management and successful execution of all fiscal functions of St. Joseph Communications. You will help to establish financial accountability, corporate governance and compliance, as well as devise and implement business and financial strategies that increase shareholder value.

In this role you will be exposed to a broad array of Corporate Finance activities including:

• Financial Reporting and Consolidations
• Monthly close, general ledger, accounting and consolidation
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly reporting packages and executive dashboards
• Consolidated financial statements (annual - audited; monthly - banking compliance)
• Corporate Office accounting, management, budgeting, forecasting and commentary
• Transfer pricing and intercompany transactions

• Corporate Governance and Tax
• Annual audit co-ordination and support
• Legal entity accounting and financial statements for tax and compliance

• Treasury and Banking
• Oversee cash, forecasting and liquidity planning
• Treasury and debt financing compliance with bank covenants
• Compliance with government agencies to ensure the company is in good standing
• Monthly borrowing base calculation and banking compliance

• Strategic Support and Stakeholder Management
• Related party transactions with shareholders, noteholders and affiliated companies
• Shareholder management
• Lead ad hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives

• Financial Systems & Digital Transformation
• Serve as the super user and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NetSuite and Prophix
• Lead finance technology initiatives, including system upgrades, data conversions, and the integration of AI
• Drive the evolution of the finance tech stack to improve data accuracy and reporting speed

Qualifications:
• CPA with 4+ years of experience in Corporate Finance
• ERP experience with Netsuite or comparable financial system and Prophix
• Strong analytical and technical skills (GAAP, Finance, Income Tax, MS Excel)
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with working with many different departments
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
• Thrives in a fast-pace and entrepreneurial environment
• Experience designing workflows and driving finance technology initiatives
