Partnering with the Controller and CFO, this person will strengthen and scale the company's accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on process optimization, controls, and reporting efficiency. This plays a key part in enhancing the monthly close, improving financial visibility, and ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Close Process
- Assist in managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis
Accounting Operations
- Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and procedures
- Assist with general ledger oversight and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support audit preparation and external auditor requests
- Help ensure compliance with financial and operational policies
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Document accounting processes, workflows, and internal procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Partner with leadership and the parent company on finance transformation and process enhancement initiatives
- Assist with ERP-related projects and system optimization efforts within a larger ERP environment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance leadership and operational teams across multiple locations
- Support standardization of accounting processes across entities and offices
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented accounting environment
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience
- Strong financial accounting background
- Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working within larger ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred:
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Public accounting/audit background is a plus
- Construction industry experience is not required
Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
