We are seeking a highly operational Assistant Controller to own our core accounting and financial functions. This is a pivotal role where the candidate will be directly involved in daily execution, including making journal entries and ensuring data integrity, while simultaneously mentoring our team in India to become self-reliant.

The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise and operational rigor to help scale the company's financial infrastructure. This role is designed for a proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic, "roll-up-your-sleeves" environment and is committed to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our multi-entity financial systems while serving as a key partner to the CFO and executive leadership.
  • Onsite position, Cerritos, Ca. (one day per week remote)
  • 100k-120k, up to 10% Bonus, Full-Time Benefited Position

Essential Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Consolidations
  • Multi-Entity Consolidation: Manage intercompany transactions and lead the consolidation of financials for all business units and locations.
  • Revenue Cycle Oversight: Ensure the integrity of "Gross-to-Net" revenue recognition, including tracking contractual allowances and payer-mix analysis.
  • Reporting: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to produce timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Accounting Operations & Cash Management
  • Direct Execution: Maintain high-level accuracy by personally performing journal entries and complex reconciliations as needed.
  • Cash Management: Manage a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and monitor debt covenant compliance.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and enforce robust accounting policies to mitigate risk and drive best practices across the organization.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to Federal and State (specifically California) regulatory laws and tax requirements.

Global Team Leadership
  • Mentorship & Development: Provide daily oversight and training to our India-based accounting operations, fostering a culture of accountability and self-reliance.
  • Workflow Optimization: Standardize processes across time zones to ensure seamless 24-hour operational efficiency.

Audit & Strategy
  • Audit & Tax: Coordinate external audits and tax filings; maintain documentation to support clean audit opinions.
  • FP&A Support: Provide financial analysis and insights to the CFO and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.


Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (particularly NetSuite) and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Clear communicator and dependable partner to the CFO and executive leadership.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams in a remote environment.
  • Experience in healthcare, multi-entity environments, or service-based industries a plus.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).

Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in related role.
