GFT is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager II - Roadway and Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago! This role requires regular attendance at our Chicago, IL office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Assistant Construction Manager who thrives in a collaborative team environment. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules.
  • Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.
  • Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence.
  • Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Prepares construction payment applications.
  • Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
  • Reviews submittals and other technical data.
  • Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
  • Performs constructibility reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Assists with Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.

What you will bring to our firm:
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • IDOT Documentation Certification, required.
  • 5-7+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits:
