Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Assistant Child Development Center Director-(GS-1701-11) to work in support of the 9th Force Support Squadron - Beale AFB, in Marysville, CA.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor and assist the Child Development Center Director in the supervision of the day to day operation of a Child Development Center. Assists with the supervision of the Child Development Center to provide specialized developmental childcare and instruction for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The position develops, implements, and administers child development programs; provides an overall safe and healthy environment to stimulate and sustain the interest of children; assists with administration; and organizes the educational and developmental programs managerial authorities.

Salary Range is $74,678 - $97,087 based on experience.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
• U.S. Citizenship
• A degree in either early childhood or child development is required in order to meet the education requirements for this position.

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's):
• Professional knowledge of child development theory, methodology, and practices relating to physical, intellectual, social and special education needs and center management.
• Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations governing child care to include regulatory requirements, policies and practices.
• Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
• Knowledge of the USDA food program requirements.
• Skill in educating, counseling and advising child care providers and parents; assessing training and children's developmental needs.
• Skill in conducting regular and periodic audits, studies, and inspections, evaluating the results, determining the feasibility of necessary improvements and coordinating corrective action.
