Responsibilities Position Summary: The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is a member of the Hospital Executive Team. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this position supports the integration, coordination and direction of nursing and patient care within the overall operation of the hospital. Supports nursing and patient care to ensure that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The ACNO participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The ACNO promotes a culture of Service Excellence with all customer groups. In the absence of a CNO , t he ACNO provides interim leadership, as designated.

Qualifications Education/Job Requirements:- Education: BSN, but MSN perferred
- Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
- Professional Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge of nursing clinical practices and management relevant to nursing and patient care activities. Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience: a minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management experience in an acute care setting.
- Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others' activities. Demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships.
- Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency with common computer-based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional US travel to conferences and UHS management meetings.
