Ready to shape credit decisions across commercial real estate and REIT clients? This Assistant Vice President role sits in the US Business Credit Office with front line credit and risk ownership across Corporate and Institutional Banking. With a focus on commercial real estate and real estate investment trusts (REITs) you'll help translate business strategy into well-judged credit outcomes that align to risk appetite. The role combines credit writing, underwriting, financial analysis and valuation work with close partnership across relationship bankers, product teams and risk colleagues. You'll coordinate stakeholders to deliver clear recommendations that meet internal credit policies and external regulatory expectations. Success looks like consistently high-quality credit papers, effective engagement with relationship teams and sound risk decisions that support client needs and fair customer outcomes. As our Assistance Vice President US , you will: - Deliver credit and risk ownership including writing credit papers and forming recommendations aligned to risk appetite - Perform credit analysis including modelling projections and enterprise valuation analysis for commercial real estate and REIT transactions - Coordinate closely with relationship managers, Credit Risk, global partners and product teams to support CIB priorities - Apply sector knowledge to interpret transaction risk profiles and assess commercial real estate and REIT credit fundamentals - Partner with relationship teams on credit engagement to optimise relationship value and deliver needs-based solutions and fair customer outcomes - Attend client meetings as needed and act as a first point of contact for credit-related customer enquiries - Follow HSBC policies, procedures and control requirements and escalate actual or potential issues through the right channels - Embed operational risk considerations into day-to-day decisions and ensure audit and regulatory actions are implemented on time You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role: - Bring substantial corporate and institutional banking underwriting experience in commercial real estate and REITs - Demonstrate structuring and credit underwriting experience across lending and related banking products - Apply a thorough understanding of commercial real estate and REIT credit and risk profiles to real transactions - Produce clear, well-reasoned credit analysis and recommendations using expert judgement within policy and regulatory requirements - Evaluate information effectively to support decision making in complex credit situations - Partner effectively with relationship managers and internal stakeholders to improve client engagement and outcomes - Communicate clearly in writing and in person with internal teams and clients on credit-related topics - Prioritise effectively across multiple deliverables while maintaining strong organisation and time management As an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
