Full Job Description
Assignment Manager

Key job responsibilities
• Serve as the primary Amazon lead for international assignment cases, owning the end-to-end employee and manager experience from pre-offer consultation through assignment closure
• Apply deep international mobility expertise - relocation, tax, assignment benefits, and cross-border compliance - to advise employees, managers, and HR partners on assignment feasibility and structure
• Conduct business strategy consultations, employee and family needs assessments, and personalized country guidance that enable informed assignment decisions before commitments are made
• Present assignment and repatriation offers, explain benefits packages, coordinate pre-acceptance tax briefings, and facilitate offer negotiations and approvals
• Resolve cross-functional blockers, partner-team conflicts, and vendor performance issues that require senior judgment or escalation authority
• Interpret policy, evaluate exceptions, and make judgment calls on non-standard situations - serving as the subject-matter authority for the team
• Review assignment business outcomes at closure - documenting role continuity, knowledge transfer, market impact, and sponsor-reported value to build the program's return-on-investment narrative

A day in the life

You will advise senior business leaders on whether a proposed international assignment is feasible - weighing timelines, tax implications, family circumstances, and business urgency to provide a clear recommendation and a holistic, structured plan. You'll present complex offer packages, coordinate across Relocation, Immigration, Tax, Benefits, Compensation, and vendor partners to keep cases moving, and step in to resolve issues that require senior judgment or escalation authority. You'll also mentor Assignment Specialists, provide coverage guidance on complex case scenarios, and contribute subject-matter expertise to program-level improvements.

- • 5+ years of experience in international mobility, global relocation, or expatriate management

- • Direct experience with international tax, cross-border compensation, and assignment packages

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
