Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Fundamental Equity team oversees over $140 billion in AUM across a broad and diversified range of client solutions on behalf of institutional and individual investors. The team operates in an entrepreneurial environment but with the resources of a large organization. Fundamental Equity is a leading voice and solutions provider in the industry on various topics including AI / Thematics investing, Small Cap, International and Emerging Markets. The team takes an active approach to investing by aiming to identify companies that they believe will create long-term value through forward-looking, company-specific research.

Role Overview

Fundamental Equity is seeking to add a highly motivated professional to its client portfolio management team, focusing on US large/mid cap and thematic strategies. Our team of client portfolio managers work closely with portfolios managers, salespeople, and a wide range of clients to understand client needs and design investment solutions, provide industry and strategy education and subject matter expertise, drive product strategy and capital raising, develop thought leadership and marketing materials, and establish and execute on business strategy. Responsibilities also include collaborating on new client focused initiates and development of AI/digital tools. Our team is energized by delivering an excellent client experience with industry leading investment solutions and performance. Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand Fundamental Equity investment strategies and portfolio management approach, with a focus on US large/mid cap and thematic strategies
  • Drive commercial outcomes through client engagement, including client meetings and presenting at conferences
  • Serve as a product expert on Fundamental Equity investment strategies to both internal and external clients of the Division and Firm
  • Create and deliver custom client proposals/presentations that use our investment products individually or combination to meet individual investor goals
  • Serve as point of contact for sales, advisor and client questions
  • Educate internal and external groups on focus products and investment capabilities
  • Partner with portfolio management team to identify and design new products
  • Create thought leadership and content on market outlook, investment capabilities and industry landscape in collaboration with portfolio managers, salespeople, and marketing
  • Conduct competitive analyses, peer group analyses and overall market research
  • Develop solid working relationships with Asset Management investment teams, working closely with portfolio managers, researchers and investment specialists to gain investment insight to be used in our marketing collateral
  • Manage a team of analysts and associates and support the development of the next generation of talent

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in a client facing role working with institutional clients, financial advisors and HNW clients
  • Strong financial, statistical and investment knowledge and interest
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Strong industry knowledge and commercial instinct
  • Strong familiarity with various investment structures and instruments including separate accounts, ETFs, etc
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Thrives in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Proactive, organized and results driven
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel for client engagement opportunities


Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
