Asset Specialist - Thermal Competition #: NLH-RE-26-117

Key Responsibilities: - Provide guidance and advice to Shift Supervisors, Work Execution Manager, Operations Manager, Long Term Asset Planning (LTAP) Manager, LTAP Engineers (asset owners) and Maintenance Planners on issues that affect day-to-day equipment priorities for the Holyrood Plant.
- Participate in daily production meetings to monitor unit status and capability, identify production threats, environmental and efficiency issues, and establish operational and maintenance priorities
- Ensure equipment is installed, maintained and operating such that it gives maximum reliability, availability and efficiency.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the 10-year Maintenance Plan, and 5- & 20-year Capital Plans.
- Manage various critical processes within the LTAP department, which will include: preventive maintenance program strategies and effectiveness, critical spare parts, asset registry and hierarchy, risk registry, multi-year reliability improvement plans, and management of change.
What We're Looking For: - You are an effective leader that develops and cultivates relationships with colleagues, internal customers and industry experts.
- You are persistent, and a creative thinker, and will lead troubleshooting and investigations of reported equipment anomalies to determine appropriate maintenance/operational interventions.
- You possess a thorough knowledge of the operation of a thermal generating station, the key assets and control systems, and associated maintenance strategies and programs.
- You have experience working within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
What You'll Need: - A Second Class Power Engineer or Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, or Controls Technologist Diploma from a recognized post secondary institute.
- Eight (8) years progressive work experience in a large thermal generating station.
- Additional certifications in reliability, maintenance or machine lubrication, such as CMRP, MMP, MLT would be considered to be an asset.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft 365, Excel, CMMS such as JD Edwards;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver's license.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education from a recognized post secondary institution may also be considered.
