Quantitative Equity Researcher — Vice President New York

Job Summary

As aVice Presidentwithin the quant research team, you will play a role in shaping and executing the research agenda. You will independently initiate, scope, and deliver research that enhances the investment process, with a clear focus on empirical rigor and reproducibility. The ideal candidate brings expertise in quantitative analysis to develop scalable tools and differentiated systematic insights.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test research hypothesesusing internal research data and external market datasets, translating investment questions into studies with statistically sound results and decision-ready conclusions.
  • Research, prototype, and evaluate equity signals and factorsacross data sources (fundamental, price/volume, sentiment, and alternative), assessing robustness, persistence, and practical application in portfolio construction.
  • Produce regular research performance commentary and market olor nd return drivers, and clearly communicating actionable takeaways, risks, and recommended follow-ups to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering/technology teams to implement validated research, emphasizing reproducible pipelines, version control, documentation and monitoring.
  • Stay current on academic and industry advances in quantitative equities(factors, market microstructure, portfolio construction, risk modeling, and data quality) and translate relevant ideas into a prioritized, hypothesis-driven research agenda.

Required Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • 5+ yearsof experience in quantitative equity research or a related field, with demonstrated independent research delivery and project leadership.
  • Deep expertise in quantitative modeling, portfolio construction, and equity markets.
  • Strong programming skills inPython, including the ability to build robust research infrastructure and reusable analytics;SQLproficiency for data extraction and manipulation is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
