SummaryThe Asset Management Division Director, under the general supervision of Director of Fleet Services, directs the fleet acquisition process, runs the motor pool, directs the repair parts program and oversees the CNG fuel station for the City of Temple's fleet. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develops and presents recommendations for vehicle and equipment replacement/upgrades based on lifecycle analysis, in collaboration with departments and City leadership
- Directs the procurement process for fleet equipment, including sourcing and researching vehicles, evaluating bids, negotiating terms and conditions, ensuring specification compliance, and utilizing grants where applicable
- Prepares bid award recommendations and related documentation for City Council approval
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for adherence to City policy
- Oversees the delivery of new vehicles and equipment to departments, ensuring proper communication and completion of all necessary paperwork
- Creates a vehicle asset shell in the fleet management software including acquisition documents, vehicle specific data including warranty and the preventive maintenance schedule
- Maintains accurate records of all fleet acquisitions, contracts, invoices, and delivery documentation, and updates the City's asset management system
- Assists departments with budget data and cost analysis related to fleet acquisitions and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations
- Directs the repair parts team and oversees the inventory levels, receiving reports, and purchase orders to maintain required inventory levels
- Administers the fleet motor pool and loaner vehicle program
- Responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, repair and compliance of CNG fuel site
- Ensures the departmental adherence to regulations, City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications- Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience in automotive or equipment facility management
- Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in fleet management or procurement of large fleet
- Experience working in or with a governmental agency
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Valid driver's license
- Texas Railroad Commission Level 5 CNG fuel site Management Certification or the ability to achieve this certification within one (1) year of employment
