Job Description

ASIC Operations Engineer
Interface with the ASIC design team to deliver ASIC products into production utilizing Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partner.
Monitor/improve ASIC yields and drive closure of manufacturing incidents.
Drive manufacturing efficiencies to maximize ASIC output.

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain & Fab Relations: Work with foundries and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) vendors to ensure product quality and on-time delivery
    • Yield Optimization: Analyze statistical test data to identify manufacturing limiters, wafer anomalies, or particle contamination
    • Failure Analysis (FA): Perform failure analysis on defective processes to isolate process or design flaws
    • Partner with process, equipment, and design engineers to implement solutions to improve, maintain, or troubleshoot production lines
    • Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM): Partner with physical design teams pre-tapeout to review layout to maximize wafer utilization
    • Create and maintain specifications, process documentation, and best-known methods


Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related semiconductor
    • Tools: Proficiency in statistical data analysis, automated test equipment (ATE) logs, Wafer Grind and Dice, SQL, SAP
    • Manufacturing Knowledge: Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, fabless supply chains, and wafer sort/final test protocols
