Role Overview:The AS/400 COBOL Developer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of business-critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications. This role requires a deep understanding of DB2 databases, including data modeling, troubleshooting, and SQL performance tuning on the iSeries platform. The developer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams on modernization efforts and integration with modern distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, maintain, and support business-critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of DB2 databases, including creating and maintaining data models, and troubleshooting/tuning advanced SQL performance issues on the iSeries platform.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve complex batch processing and interactive application issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and modernization teams to integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.
- Apply experience in continuous integration/deployment processes specific to the IBM i environment.
Required Skills:- Extensive experience with AS/400, COBOL, RPG/RPGLE, DB2, SQL, and IBM iSeries.
- Proficiency in AS400 Stack~System I - COBOL400.
- Knowledge of Agile principles, with experience in Scrum or Kanban.
- Familiarity with general office machines and proficiency in standard MS Office tools.
Qualifications:- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
