ITA is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities
ITA is seeking an AI Training Specialist to support the development, testing, training, and optimization of artificial intelligence solutions for government and commercial customers. This position focuses on designing effective prompts, evaluating AI-generated outputs, training users on AI capabilities, and improving the performance of large language models (LLMs) and AI-enabled decision support tools.
Working closely with data scientists, software engineers, business analysts, and customers, the AI Training Specialist helps ensure AI solutions deliver accurate, reliable, secure, and mission-relevant results that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
Prompt Engineering & AI Optimization
- Develop, test, and refine prompts for generative AI, custom large language models (LLMs), and AI-enabled applications.
- Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, consistency, relevance, and alignment with customer requirements.
- Create prompt libraries, templates, and best practices to support repeatable and effective AI utilization.
- Support the development of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge management, and AI-assisted decision support capabilities.
AI Training & User Enablement
- Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and user guides for AI tools and applications.
- Train end-users on prompt development techniques, AI capabilities, limitations, Agents, Descriptive reporting, predictive reporting, and responsible use practices.
- Provide coaching and support to customers and internal teams adopting AI-enabled solutions.
- Assist in developing organizational AI adoption strategies and user engagement plans.
AI Evaluation & Quality Assurance
- Perform structured testing and validation of AI-generated responses.
- Document findings, identify performance gaps, and recommend improvements to prompts, workflows, and AI models.
- Support the development of evaluation criteria, scoring methodologies, and performance metrics.
- Assist in monitoring AI system performance and user feedback.
Knowledge Management & Data Support
- Organize, curate, and structure content used to support AI applications.
- Assist with preparing structured and unstructured data for AI ingestion and retrieval.
- Support development of taxonomies, metadata standards, and knowledge repositories.
- Help ensure AI systems leverage authoritative and relevant information sources.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with customers, subject matter experts, analysts, and technical teams to understand mission requirements and identify AI use cases.
- Gather user feedback and translate operational needs into AI training and prompt engineering improvements.
- Support demonstrations, pilot programs, and customer workshops.
Responsible AI & Governance
- Support compliance with organizational policies related to AI governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and responsible AI practices.
- Help identify and mitigate risks associated with AI-generated content, bias, and hallucinations.
- Promote best practices for secure and ethical use of AI technologies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Business, Psychology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in training, technical writing, knowledge management, business analysis, communications, data analysis, or technology support.
- Strong written communication and analytical skills.
- Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or similar platforms.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly guidance and training materials.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Managing models in development, prompts, reports, and persistent learning requires excellent organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing prompts for AI or automation tools.
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), machine learning concepts, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Experience creating training programs, conducting workshops, or facilitating user adoption initiatives.
- Knowledge of government, defense, intelligence, or public sector environments.
- Familiarity with data analytics, business intelligence, or knowledge management platforms.
- Active Secret clearance or experience supporting the United States Government

Pay range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 annually.
This position has a broad compensation range due to the complexities of government contracting, including contract pricing, labor category requirements, funding parameters, and varying levels of candidate experience and qualifications.
