Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Strategic Transportation Policy to support Army logistics programs through strategic planning, operational analysis, enterprise coordination, program integration, and executive decision support. Successfully demonstrate competency in project execution, client delivery, critical thinking, and relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities
  • Support Army logistics programs—focused on transportation policy—through policy, planning and strategic support and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to evaluate transportation operations, transportation policy implementation, organizational performance, operational trends, and emerging issues affecting Army movement and distribution.
  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze information from multiple data sources (e.g., movement reports, deployment/redeployment data, transportation management systems) to support executive decision-making and policy recommendations.
  • Develop executive-ready briefings, reports, decision papers, presentations, and other written communications supporting Army transportation policy initiatives.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Army transportation policies, procedures, regulations, and organizational initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Coordinate transportation policy activities and recommendations across multiple Army organizations and stakeholders (including G-4, AMC, Army Service Component Commands, and joint/coalition partners) to support enterprise logistics and deployment/distribution objectives.
  • Monitor policy-related project activities, milestones, deliverables, and action items to ensure timely execution and alignment with Army and DoW transportation guidance.
  • Facilitate meetings, working groups, and collaborative planning sessions focused on transportation policy and operations, while documenting decisions and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Synthesize complex operational and analytical information into actionable recommendations that improve transportation policy effectiveness, readiness, and mission performance.
  • Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and analytical products to support leadership visibility and informed decision-making related to transportation policy and strategic movement.
  • Support planning activities related to transportation readiness, strategic mobility, deployment/redeployment, sustainment distribution, capability assessments, and program integration.
  • Support business development activities, including market research, proposal support, solution development, and client engagement related to Army transportation policy and strategic mobility, as required.
  • Perform additional consulting, analytical, and project support activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eight or more years of professional experience supporting Army logistics—such as transportation policy, deployment/distribution, DoW logistics, or other complex Government organizations.
  • Experience conducting operational analysis, readiness assessments, program evaluations, or organizational assessments, preferably including transportation or movement-related operations and policy.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using spreadsheets, databases, and collaboration tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources (e.g., transportation reports, movement data, readiness and deployment systems) into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level briefings, reports, and presentations for senior Army or DoW stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and work effectively within cross-functional teams that may include transportation, sustainment, operations, and planning personnel.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in dynamic operational environments.
  • Available for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an active Secret security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Advanced degree in Business, Public Administration, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10 plus years of experience supporting Army logistics, or other DoW organizations.
  • Experience supporting headquarters-level logistics planning, program management, readiness, sustainment, or enterprise integration.
  • Experience developing dashboards, performance metrics, executive reporting, or data visualization products.
  • Familiarity with business process improvement, workflow modernization, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional working groups and stakeholder engagements.
  • Excellent research, writing, briefing, and staff coordination skills.

 

The target salary range for this position is $70,746-$95,003. 

 

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
