Location Overview

Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it's a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River.

With its prime location in the heart of downtown, the OPO Building provides easy access to major transportation hubs, including Union Station and multiple CTA lines, making it convenient for commuters. The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas.

Role Overview

The Armed Security Specialist at Cboe responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Provides safety and security for employees, member firms, vendors, guests, and visiting employees.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points. Permit entry when required.
  • Monitors, directs, and controls all emergency situations (i.e. building evacuations, fire alarms, bomb threats, etc.) through the monitoring of radio communication and building safety controls.
  • Controls access and movement to and from trading floor, ,visitors' center and within the entire building.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
  • Acts as liaison between local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies as needed
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed office / company social events, etc. by coordinating the
  • Regular attendance at the work place in a traditional office environment will be required


The ideal candidate has:
  • Minimum 10 years law enforcement experience with the Chicago Police Department or similar municipal police departments performing law enforcement duties.
  • Extensive knowledge of Illinois Criminal Code and Chicago Municipal Ordinances.
  • Current with all applicable firearms training requirements.
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, or related field

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)
At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market-informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $70,125-$90,750, with actual compensation determined by job-related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
