The Job
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Quality Management Nurses - Risk Management who compile, analyze and evaluate data using statistical methods, benchmark data or comparative measures, and conduct extensive clinical reviews of cases and claims, risk mitigation, and risk related clinical reviews. Quality Management Nurses participate in the sustainability of the quality and risk management programs.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Conduct clinical reviews of patient cases, incidents, and claims to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret quality and risk management data using statistical methods and benchmarking.
  • Investigate adverse events and participate in root cause analyses and other patient safety initiatives.
  • Develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies and process improvements.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient safety and quality of care.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to leadership and quality committees.
  • Support the implementation and sustainability of quality improvement and risk management programs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history and education verification, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.
Training: Training will be provided online and administered at an ARMC and/or a County training facility.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must possess ALL of the following:LICENSE: Must possess and maintain licensure as a Registered Nurse with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

CERTIFICATION: Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.
EXPERIENCE:

OPTION 1:One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience in direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospitalOR

OPTION 2: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, including experience in risk management, such as patient safety, incident investigation, root cause analysis, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, occurrence reporting, or risk assessment and mitigation activities.

Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess experience in a critical care unit/department (ED, Trauma, OB, or ICU) and patient safety.
