Overview

We are looking for an Area Vice President of Operations(AVPO) - Hands of Hope Pediatric Program to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the pediatric hospice and palliative care program across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality, family-centered care to children with serious, life-limiting, and life-threatening illnesses while supporting patient families throughout the care continuum. The AVPO develops and executes strategic initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, drives quality outcomes, oversees program growth, and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. This position serves as a key leader in advancing the organization's mission, vision, and commitment to exceptional pediatric care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited college or University. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive responsibility in healthcare or healthcare leadership experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospice, palliative care, pediatric healthcare, or a related clinical specialty. Experience analyzing performance data and translating insights into operational improvements.
  • Skills: Requires extensive knowledge of pediatric hospice and palliative care principles and best practices, including strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality standards. Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive strategic initiatives.

  • Required: Reliable transportation. Ability to sit, stand, bend, move intermittently and lift at least 25lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively. Must be willing to travel 20% of the time throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
