The Power / Recovery Area Manager will be responsible for managing the
Supply of steam, electricity, air and water to the Mill in a safe, Efficient, and reliable manner.
Requirements are:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Promote a safe and caring culture within the power department
- Ensure environmental compliance with all regulations
- Coordinates and communicates with maintenance and planners
- Responsible for producing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Works with maintenance to ensure all work orders receive timely rough cost estimates
- Engage and develop crew leadership and provide world class customer service to other departments of the Mill
- Mange the reliability of the power boiler, turbine generator, Utilities, Recovery Boiler, Evaporator, Demineralizer and wastewater treatment systems.
- Provide guidance to the Mill to achieve minimum energy costs
- Interact effectively and cooperatively within all levels of the Organization
- Manage all aspects of revenue generation including the marketing of electrical power
- Coordinate all aspects of outages (planning, execution, reliability, cost, etc.)
- Support the Project Development Process, working closely with Project Engineering and Area leaders in Power and Maintenance.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of pulp and paper experience or bachelor's in engineering with at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of the Power department- safety environmental, costs, quality and customers.
- Candidates must possess the ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, an understanding of team concepts, a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as well as an established skill to execute work based on standards and procedures.
- Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated ability to enforce accountability.

- Demonstrated competence to work:

- With all levels of mill management
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
PG range 13-14 based on qualifications
