Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Retail Area Manager, based out of the New York City Area. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work closely with the founding team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about people leadership and development, thrives in a fast paced high volume setting, is intrinsically motivated and loves operating with strong attention to detail (and loves ice cream!). The Area Manager will report directly to the Regional Area Manager and will oversee Multi-Unit General Managers who manage our Brick and Mortar locations in NYC. The Area Manager's primary responsibility will be to oversee the General Manager team and hourly team leadership/development, operational excellence, and guest experience while upholding the Van Leeuwen culture. The Area Manager will be responsible for retail team performance and happiness, guest experience, store performance both financially and operationally, schedule approval and labor, high-level payroll functions, quality of product, and maintaining all food safety within each location.
