The Role:

A Manufacturing Area Manageris responsible for leading operations across 3 shifts of production. Responsible to manage salaried group leaders and shift leaders and lead the cross functional maintenance and engineering teams in the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area and foster an atmosphere of teamwork, engagement and inclusion. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Possess the ability to deal with complex problems and drive solutions.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

In this role, you will coach, train, develop and evaluate employees. You will both lead and provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems, and lead cross functional teams in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations in addition to the following:

  • Lead in fostering a strong safety culture with a goal of 0 injuries and an engaged workforce.

  • Meet cost, schedule and quality requirements.

  • Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards.

  • Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements.

  • Leads forecasting of areas of responsibility and establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project.

  • Working with others inside and outside the work group.

  • Administers divisional and corporate policies.

  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment.

  • Leads in the selection of new employees. Trains, develops, and evaluates employees.

  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project and proven ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with the highest level of autonomy and accountability for results.

  • Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others.

  • Responsible for creating budgets and forecasts within assigned area.

  • Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to lead and implement GMS principles.

  • Support upcoming product launches through coordination and timely execution.

  • Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision-making accompanied by a high level of independent discernment. Assists in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of production manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Must be willing to work across 3 production shifts as needed.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in the automotive industry.

  • Experience working in a union environment.

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $139,900.00 - $214,400.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
