Fincantieri Marine Group is hiring an Area Manager in the Manufacturing Department at our Marinette, WI location.

Position Summary

The Area Manager leads production execution for a designated stage of ship construction, with accountability for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and schedule performance. This role oversees large manufacturing teams through front-line and middle management supervisors, while collaborating with Senior Leadership, union personnel, customers, inspectors, and suppliers to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Domestic and international travel may be required.

Essential Functions
  • Lead safety, quality, cost, productivity, and schedule performance for assigned Stage of Construction (SOC)
  • Supervise and develop Foremen and production workforce
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, resources, and coordination to meet operational requirements
  • Monitor daily production metrics and resolve issues to minimize delays and costs
  • Complete incident investigations, JSAs, inspections, audits, and corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with support departments and union personnel to improve workflow and efficiency
  • Prepare and communicate performance updates, reports, and initiatives to Senior Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies and practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with computer systems such as EVMS, Baan, or Time and Attendance systems
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; employee recognition and discipline; resolving employee concerns; and developing employees with the skills, competencies, and values needed to achieve Company goals.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 8 Years of Trade experience and 5 Years of management experience required
