ABOUT THE ROLE

The Area Manager RMX holds direct operational accountability for multiple plant sites (Cornwall, Brockville, and Smiths Falls). This role is responsible for driving excellence across health and safety, daily operations, maintenance, inventory control, product quality, financial performance, environmental compliance, and community relations. As an operations professional, the Area Manager takes a disciplined, process-driven approach to execution while partnering closely with safety, customer service, performance, finance, and HR personnel to achieve localized business goals.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Optimize Plant Operations: Provide direct oversight for the processing, storage, production, and shipping of concrete, ensuring fixed and mobile equipment operate at peak efficiency.
  • Drive Financial & Volume Targets: Achieve annual revenue, cost-management, and volume delivery goals for an annual production footprint of 30,000 to 70,000 cubic meters.
  • Execute Strategic Budgeting: Conduct market research and data analysis to establish, track, and forecast accurate annual operational and capital budgets.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Establish and monitor production and delivery processes to ensure final products rigorously meet or exceed customer and technical specifications.
  • Manage Inventory & Supply Chain: Closely coordinate raw material requirements with suppliers and internal accounting teams to balance cost optimization with daily customer demands.
  • Lead and Develop Talent: Manage, recruit, recognize, and coach a team of 10-30 Ready Mix Drivers and/or brokers across 2-3 plants to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure Environmental Compliance: Prioritize and strictly enforce environmental policies and regulations by applying company best practices on site.
  • Uphold Community & Plant Image: Maintain high site standards (housekeeping, vehicle condition, and property appearance) and proactively engage with the local community as a trusted corporate citizen.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Required Work Experience: 5+ years of related operations experience within the concrete, aggregate, or construction sectors.
  • Required Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 5% travel requirement outside the immediate local market area.

  • Strong leadership and managerial courage-ability to motivate teams and provide direct, actionable feedback.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and timely decision-making skills under tight deadlines or with incomplete data.
  • Strong customer service focus and flexibility to balance shifting priorities.
  • General knowledge of construction, concrete products, market competition, and business acumen.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
