Full Job Description
Area Head of Finance

The Area Head of Finance works to meet business goals while partnering with area, sales and operations managers, project/service teams, Finance and Business Administration (FBA) colleagues, and auditors. This position is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite and can be located in New Orleans LA or Jacksonville, FL.

As an Area Head of Finance, you will:
  • Acts as commercial partner to the Branch Managers and assumes responsibility for Area financial performance. Along with Branch management, is responsible for the Area's financial performance including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Leads, manages, and oversees finance, accounting, and business administration activities for all SI RSS Businesses.
  • Responsible for assigned Areas' day-to-day business transactions and strategic initiatives in strong collaboration with Area GMs and drives, implements and monitors in cooperation with the Branches Management - productivity initiatives to further improve profitability and competitiveness.
  • Partners with Commercial Project Managers, Sales, and Operations Managers on large, more impactful projects in the Areas to ensure adequate project controlling.
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal accounting and reporting guidelines and operational Area performance (operational balance, slip, absorption, & utilization).
  • Area cost center controlling and Mentor/lead Commercial Project Managers and other team members as applicable, as well as participate in special projects related to either the local business or in support of field or home office initiatives.
  • Analyze and report financial risks, opportunities, inconsistencies, and potential fraud indicators to Branch/Region Finance and Business Administration leadership.
  • Monitor operating expense controls and recommend cost-savings and continuous improvement actions to support financial performance goals.
  • Oversee inventory valuation by maintaining sound financial control policies, procedures, and reporting practices.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to enable high-quality employee performance, development, and accountability.
  • Deliver or coordinate financial training for sales, operations, and finance teams to strengthen understanding of policies, procedures, and controls that impact the integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • May manage, directly or indirectly, employees performing finance and accounting functions in the region.
  • Participate in special projects supporting local business priorities, field operations, or home office initiatives.
  • Support contract execution and review contract terms to provide financial guidance, improve Net Working Capital, and mitigate contractual risk.
  • Serve as a company representative and liaison with customers and local authorities to build productive relationships and reinforce a positive Siemens Smart Buildings image.
  • Review and approve contracts, purchase orders, and change orders within delegated signature authority across relevant business activities.
  • Maintain relationships with the largest and most critical customers, as appropriate, to support business continuity and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 6+ years of broad Accounting / Finance experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated a history of taking on ever increasing levels of responsibility and being able to demonstrate ability to take initiative and act independently.
  • Competencies: Results driven; client-driven; ability to interact effectively within cross functional teams; collaborative style
  • Skills: Strong financial, leadership, interpersonal, analytical; proficiency with MS Suite of applications
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Experience in construction industry
  • Knowledge of construction accounting with bond and lien law experience

The pay range for this position is $$122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
