Area Field HSE Manager (US-N)

We are seeking an Area Field HSE Manager to manage the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) program to ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations. This person will work with assigned sites to identify hazards and assess risk to HSE, involving individuals to identify the appropriate safety controls, and providing guidance on accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. This role is intended to be a sector resource in a campus location or a network resource that supports multiple sites in a specified area of responsibility (AOR).

Responsibilities
  • Promotes occupational health and safety awareness throughout assigned facilities.
  • Coaches site HSE champions / leaders on their HSE responsibilities.
  • May conduct or oversee ongoing safety inspections of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure compliance and safe working environment for associates.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory and company/customer requirements.
  • Supports the implementation of standard HSE support at assigned sites using common tools provided by the Operations Excellence HSE Team.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports statistical data across campus or network in area of responsibility (AOR).
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and supports the continuous improvement process for assigned sites.
  • Assists sites with incident investigations, root cause analysis and support steps for corrective action to site management and functional safety team.
  • Monitors and provides expertise and assistance on the Logics incident module.
  • Supports sites on claims management including classification, accommodations, and return to work.
  • Manages, mentors and develops Field Safety Personnel.
  • Participates on HSE projects as needed.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and puts forth solutions/recommendations to continually support site improvement.
  • Actively participates on assigned teams and/or projects, including site Health & Safety Committee and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with HSE communications such as training and tools to area of responsibility (AOR).
  • Provides input and assists the OE Regional and or Campus HSE managers with Safety Improvement Plan implementations.
  • Assists the Ops Excellence Regional or Campus HSE manager with start-ups, as necessary.
  • Participates with the OE Central Team to provide support on initiative implementation, participation in HSE Working Groups, HSE assessments, training and other relevant activities as appropriate.


Required Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field or 3-5 year HSE Experience, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field, preferred.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Technician (OHST) or equivalent, preferred.
  • Industrial Hygiene (CIH), preferred.
  • Certified or Associate Safety Professional (CSP or ASP), preferred.
  • Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), preferred.
  • Certified Director of Safety (CDS) or Safety Supervisor (CSS), preferred.
  • Three to six (3-6) years of experience managing HSE in an operational or functional support role, required.
  • One to three (1-3) years of warehouse/distribution/logistics experience, preferred.
