EHS teams are comprised of three distinct disciplines that support our EHS Management System and processes at project sites and offices. These teams include environmental scientists, safety specialists, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management.

An opportunity exists to work within the EHS team on our Lilly Houston Project located in Houston, Texas.

Job Summary:

Supervises a component of the project safety program, inclusive of its technical and administrative aspects, and supervises assigned safety personnel within a designated area of the project. Provides technical support to project functions on EHS program execution, confirms safety and health requirements are integrated into planning and execution documents, and conducts assessments and inspections to monitor compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, and Bechtel requirements. Coordinates with EHS Management regarding significant issues and support.#LI-AE2

Major Responsibilities:

• Supervises a component of a safety program, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
• Supervises assigned safety personnel and provides guidance on their work activities.
• Provides technical support within EHS teams and to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Procurement, Management, and other functions regarding EHS program execution.
• Confirms that safety and health requirements are integrated in planning documents, design criteria, construction and commissioning plans, schedules, and subcontract documents.
• Prepares, or helps prepare, Safety and Health Management Plans and awareness and training programs in compliance with Bechtel standards, the EHS Management System, and contract and regulatory requirements.
• Emphasizes and uses risk assessment, data analysis, and Bechtel's EHS Management System to help track and achieve continual improvement.
• Prepares technical and regulatory reports, researches issues to support EHS program execution, evaluates data, and reports performance trends.
• Participates in EHS emergency response planning and confirms investigation and resolution of safety and health incidents.
• Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders and addresses their issues.
• Participates in and leads meetings with customers, team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements.
• Conducts assessments and inspections to monitor EHS compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, and Bechtel requirements.
• Provides guidance on assessment and monitoring methods, mitigation measures and controls, contractual commitments, laws and regulations, and Bechtel requirements.
• Coordinates with EHS Management regarding significant issues and support.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
• Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
• Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
• Ability to support multiple work shifts, as needed, and a wide range of tasks.
