Architectural Staff Level II / Architect II

Chicago, IL

Summary:
Assist in preparing complete and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Involvement with pre-design and programming phases of a project.
  • Overseeing the production of design documents.
  • Managing clients with multiple projects.
  • Maintaining relationships with clients to provide a high level of service.
  • Guiding and producing all document phases of a project, SD, DD, CD and CA.
  • Coordinating project consultant efforts.
  • Consults in the planning, design and coordination of large complex projects.
  • Responsible for technical design aspects of an assigned major project including investigation, evaluation and recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of local building code is required.
  • Serving as the technical leader and project manager for significant development projects. The ability to manage several simultaneous projects is a requirement, overlooking different project teams.
  • Establishing the initial project schedule and regular maintenance of project schedules. This activity includes the recommendation of appropriate staffing for each design activity.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills are a must.
  • Hands on approach and flexibility are a must.
  • Strong Project Management skills.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited school of Architecture.
  • 6 or more years of architecture practice experience (including at least 3 years of U.S. experience)
  • Strong design portfolio.
  • Strong experience with Revit .

Other Requirements
  • U.S. Architectural License preferred
  • Knowledge of the City Building Code is preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is eligible for benefits. AIA and State licensure costs are fully covered. For individuals still pursuing licensure, a study stipend and exam cost reimbursement is available.

Annual salary range is $75,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience.
