Architectural Project Manager - Data Center

Position Summary

Join our partner firm, Macgregor Associates Architects (MAA), an Invision Studio, as a architectural Project Manager and lead the design and delivery of high-performance Data Center - mission critical projects. In this role, you'll manage one or more projects from concept through construction, ensuring client requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and met. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, and AHJs, while maintaining MAA's high design standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Data Center design-including both tenant improvements and ground-up development-along with proficiency in Revit and cloud-based BIM collaboration. You should be comfortable navigating fast-paced project timelines, coordinating construction administration tasks, and adapting quickly to evolving client needs. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this dynamic, client-facing role.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage one or more Data Center projects from design through construction, ensuring alignment with client goals, program requirements, and design criteria.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, internal teams, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and supervise project team members, ensuring successful coordination across all disciplines.
  • Oversee project documentation, including drafting, modeling, and production of construction documents (CDs), while upholding firm design standards.
  • Direct and participate in construction administration activities such as reviewing RFIs, submittals, conducting site visits, generating reports, and leading punch walks.
  • Utilize Revit and BIM 360 for project development and coordination within a cloud-shared model environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and energy codes throughout all project phases.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving client needs or changes in project direction, effectively guiding the team through necessary adjustments.
  • Contribute to the creation of proposals and design criteria manuals, supporting the delivery of clear and professional documentation.


Qualifications:
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Licensure is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of project management experience, including the development of owner program requirements, proposals, and design criteria manuals.
  • 10+ years of professional architectural practice with a strong foundation in fast-paced project delivery.
  • 6+ years of experience in data center - mission critical projects, including tenant improvements and full ground-up designs for hyperscale, collocation, or enterprise clients.
  • 8+ years of Revit production experience, specifically within data center projects, with extensive experience working in BIM 360 cloud-shared environments.
  • In-depth understanding of construction documentation, detail development, and full construction administration processes (RFIs, submittals, site visits, punch walks, and reporting).
  • Proven knowledge of building, fire, and energy codes.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, internal teams, and AHJs.
  • Strong adaptability to client direction changes with the ability to clearly convey updated project needs to internal teams.
