Architectural Manager
Responsibilities
Ensure Design Excellence is delivered on all projects.
Lead and direct architectural staff to achieve project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget.
Oversee technical activities and production of deliverables for all projects from design through construction, with a focus on construction documents.
Oversee bidding and construction administration activities, including training and mentoring on tasks and skills required during bidding, construction, and post construction phases.
Utilize expertise to teach architects how to plan and organize deliverables (how to put a set together) and to document and detail a project (how to put a building together).
Monitor project development ensuring the work will be completed to the appropriate level for the submission/deliverable, meets quality standards and adheres to the project schedule and budget.
Provide technical review of the work completed by the architectural staff to ensure the work meets contractual requirements, the professional standard of care, the quality standards of the firm and is biddable and buildable.
Identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement production standards to improve the work.
Coach/mentor architectural staff in communication skills, problem solving/critical thinking skills, effectively working with project managers and other disciplines, prioritizing and working efficiently to meet deadlines.
Monitor performance and professionalism of architectural staff and provide informal feedback.
Participate in the formal performance reviews of architectural staff.
Supervise day-to-day activities of architectural staff, including approval of timesheets.
