Full Job Description
The Business Systems Analysis Architect analyzes the most complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures highly complex system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Provides consultation to users with regards to automated systems. Solves highly complex problems and is called on to consult by other teams. Provides coaching/training to less experienced team members and acts as a mentor to less experienced team members. Viewed as the Subject Matter Expert for all disciplines within their area of responsibility. May supervise others, but not required. Provides system wide/cross functional support across IT.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $113k to $171k Annually with additional bonus potential

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Business Process: Leads others by working across boundaries and ensuring best practice solutions are developed and implemented. Seeks ways to implement process changes to improve business process productivity. Collaborates with suppliers to recommend best practice solutions.
  • Functional Analysis: Proactively validates results of functional requirements gathering process.
  • Functional Design: Directs functional designs of solutions enable process change, continuous improvement and competitive advantage. Ensures solutions optimize and protect the Winland Foods IT Ecosystem and achieve maximum ROI.
  • Architecture: Through collaborative means, researches technical solutions to broad business problems and ensures application/ technical strategies are tightly linked. Influences and sets Ecosystem architectural standards to meet long term requirements reusing existing solutions where possible. Ensures Ecosystem portfolio is continuously maintained.
  • Information Security: Establishes security standards for emerging technologies. Ensures appropriate "defense in depth" and "least privileged" security concepts are designed into Ecosystem.
  • Availability / Recovery: Establishes and directs efforts to measure and continuously improve Ecosystem availability working closely with business partners. Establishes design standards for operational availability and recovery point/ time objectives that are cost efficient and effectively protects business from interruption.
  • Capacity/ Performance: Utilizes capacity trends and long term business/ technical strategies to ensure Ecosystem capacity is appropriately accommodated. Ensures licensing for environments is forecasted appropriately and in continuous compliance with contractual agreements. Measures and leads efforts to continuously improve performance of systems continuously driving efficient utilization of technical components.
  • Research/ Development: Assesses applicability and readiness of emerging technology solutions. Effectively influences suppliers to develop solutions to meet business needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Directs design and quality reviews and ensures technical resources are optimized.
  • Technical Analysis: Proactively validates conclusions associated with requirements gathering process focusing on full spectrum of application performance.
  • Technical Design: Ensures optimal performance and quality of technical designs.
  • Construct/ Implement: Ensures quality delivery of tuned application environments that are contemporary and in accordance with architectural guidelines. Provides direction on training and content development and delivery to end users. Provides direction on project Cutover and Go-Live activities. Provides direction for programs and/or large projects. Accountable for the overall solution capabilities of projects/initiatives.
  • Incident/ Problem Management: Directs and educates others in conducting effective investigation/ diagnosis of incidents and root cause analysis of problems across the Winland Foods IT Ecosystem. Develops, implements and documents solutions in a timely manner and validate with users that service has been restored.
  • Change Control: Directs and educates others in conducting proper urgency, impact and risk assessment of change requests. Plans, schedules, implements and documents changes in accordance with Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.
  • Human Capital Management (When Applicable): Develops each of his / her assigned team members by fully leveraging all facets of IT career development. Ensures effective development and delivery of Performance Reviews and midyear reviews for all assigned and (when applicable) matrixed personnel. Actively manages / ensures creation of individual development plans and associated training plans for assigned personnel ensuring they are both feasible and in line with organizational goals. Actively coaches others toward demonstrating all behaviors defined by the Winland Vision, Mission and Values. Actively contributes to staff calibration activities and talent management reviews.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required. Will consider formal training and/or extensive experience in area of responsibility in lieu of degree.
  • Requires more than 12 years Information Technology / position related experience.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Workday modules required (Core Human Capital Management (HCM), Compensation, Benefits, Talent & Performance Management, Recruiting, Absence Management, Reporting, Dashboards, Analytics, Inbound and Outbound Integrations, Liaise with Workday, and Liaise with Payroll Provider - ADP.
  • Requires conceptual thinking to understand highly complex issues, understands implications, and direct the improvement of defined procedures.
  • Ability to implement highly complex solutions requiring a longer-term view and analysis of multiple perspectives and implications.
  • Ability to apply expertise to improve business operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate highly complex technical or nontechnical information with a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Required to interpret or clarify highly complex technical information to aid understanding.
  • Conveys highly complex information and persuades several diverse stakeholders/audiences within area of responsibility.
  • Develops recommendations to promote highly complex ideas or services across IT.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.


Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time to company locations, business meetings, industry events, or other job related functions


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while using a computer, and other standard office equipment. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating office technology is required. The employee must possess close visual acuity to view electronic documents and screens. Occasional standing, walking, bending or lifting of materials up to 15 pounds may be required. The employee is expected to maintain a safe and productive working environment that supports confidential business activities.

Business needs may require work outside normal business hours, and after hours support may be needed.
