We are looking for a dedicated Senior Aquatic Scientist to join Trinity Consultants Canada Water & Ecology. Location: This is a hybrid role based out of one of our 20 Canadian offices. WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR? Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. The following responsibilities will be in your domain: - Leading and supporting aquatic environmental studies, predominantly at mine sites located across Canada. - Designing and implementing aquatic field programs. - Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting water, sediment, benthic invertebrate, and fish/fish habitat data. - Preparing interpretive reports based on aquatic environmental study findings. - Participating in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and other project partners. - Participating in the preparation of proposals for new work. THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Graduate degree in environmental science (M.Sc. or Ph.D.). - 8+ years of relevant work experience, including assessing the effects of inorganic contaminants on aquatic systems, impact processes, sampling design, and interpretation of aquatic environmental data. - Exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills. - Experience in aquatic sampling and data analysis, including knowledge of software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical packages. - Experience in project management and client relationship building. - Valid driver's license and willingness to travel. - Registration as a professional biologist in BC and/or Alberta is considered an asset.
