Job Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Federally Qualified Health Center Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies in this classification for up to four (4) months.

Level designation based on training and experience (see job description). Starting salaries are non-negotiable.
APRN I - $121,668
APRN II - $131,224

Responsible for providing targeted direct clinical services, public health interventions, and delivery of comprehensive care in Southern Nevada Heath District's community health centers including outreach in non-traditional environments, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and linkage to ongoing medical, behavioral, and social services care.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training:

Training:APRN I & APRN II
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in nursing; or a related health field that is acceptable to the Nevada State Board of Nursing for certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse; Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a nationally recognized certification agency approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing; or
  • Alternate APRN qualification if certification is prior to July 2014 as set forth by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

Experience:

APRN I
  • One year of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse preferred.
APRN II
  • Five (5) years of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse.


License or Certificate:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid State Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License.
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid State Registered Nursing License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid CPR Certificate.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver's license

Desirable Qualifications:
Primary Care Experience preferred
Women's Health experience preferred
OR
Primary Care background - willing to be trained on Women's Health
