Title:

Apptio Administrator

KBR is seeking an Apptio Administrator in Houston, TX to join our Digital Transformation team. This role is responsible for the configuration, administration, and continuous optimization of the organization’s Apptio (Technology Business Management) platform, enabling data-driven IT financial management through accurate cost modeling, reporting, and insights. The Apptio Administrator will partner closely with IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to enhance financial transparency, support strategic decision-making, and drive initiatives aligned with the company’s broader digital transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Apptio platform, including configuration, user access, and system performance
  • Develop, manage, and enhance cost models, allocation rules, and financial structures within Apptio
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reconciliation of financial and operational data from multiple source systems
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to align Apptio data with financial reporting and planning processes
  • Create and deliver dashboards, reports, and analyses to support IT financial transparency and decision-making
  • Identify trends, insights, and cost optimization opportunities to support business and technology strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Apptio solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Apptio and Technology Business Management (TBM) practices
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with Apptio support to resolve platform-related challenges
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements, upgrades, and implementation of new features or modules
  • Drive continuous improvement of IT financial management processes and promote TBM best practices
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide training and support to end users and stakeholders on Apptio functionality and reporting

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Apptio Systems Administrator, including hands-on work with TBM Studio and custom solution development.
  • Strong experience in Apptio development, design, and platform administration
  • Proven understanding of IT financial management concepts, cost modeling, and allocation methodologies
  • Experience working across IT, Finance, and/or business functions, including exposure to management accounting and financial systems
  • Familiarity with software deployment/development practices and working collaboratively within established system processes
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure domains, including data centers, networking, servers, virtualization, storage, and application development
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Apptio certifications (e.g., TBM Certified Professional)
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation or IT financial optimization initiatives
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management and FinOps practices
  • Experience integrating Apptio with ERP, ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow), or financial planning systems
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and financial planning tools
  • Advanced expertise in data modeling, reporting, and dashboard development within Apptio
