The Department of Criminal Justice Services is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a full-time Applications Support Analyst in Richmond, Virginia. This position supports the Division of Licensure and Regulatory Services through application support, troubleshooting, testing, training, reporting, and business analysis. What you will do:
• Serve as the primary contact for application support of the Credential Management System and related Power Platform solutions.
• Administer and configure Power Platform applications, including:
o Updating Power Apps forms and views
o Managing Power Pages content and user access
o Monitoring and troubleshooting Power Automate flows
• Manage user accounts, security roles, and system access.
• Respond to service requests, analyze issues, and coordinate resolution with technical resources.
• Conduct system validation, testing, and documentation following updates or deployments.
• Develop and maintain support documentation, user guides, and knowledge-base content.
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements for system enhancements and process improvements.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and support prioritization and user acceptance testing.
• Create and maintain standard and ad hoc reports.
• Support audit, compliance, and FOIA related reporting needs.
• Assist other IT areas by providing supplemental desktop and application support to ensure continuity of operations.
Minimum Qualifications• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
• Ability to perform routine application administration, configuration, and system maintenance.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.
• Ability to conduct functional testing, user acceptance testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to analyze business processes and recommend technology-based solutions.
• Ability to facilitate meetings, manage priorities, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
• Basic desktop support capability, including printer installation, drive mapping, and general software troubleshooting.
• Ability to think strategically and cross culturally, and independently implement new initiatives and projects.
• Ability to articulate, both orally and in written form, clear and concise program objectives and goals and summarize achievements of programs in reports and other documents as requested.
• Documented experience working as an active, contributing team member, as well as an independent and self-motivated employee.
• Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines, handle multiple assignments, changing priorities, and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.
Additional Considerations• Experience supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions in a production environment.
• Experience using Power BI for reporting and visualization.
• Experience with the Lotus credential management system.
• Experience supporting licensing, credentialing, regulatory, or case management systems.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Experience developing user documentation, training materials, or knowledge-base articles.
Special InstructionsInterview candidates may be required to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory performance of work. The candidate selected for the position must successfully complete a criminal background investigation and complete and submit a Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) which will be entered into the Federal E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization. The individual may also be responsible for submitting an annual Statement of Personal Economic Interest. In addition, the selected candidate who begins original employment or re-employment in this position must serve a 12-month probationary period effective from the date of employment. The starting salary range is $72,000 to $90,000 plus the state's benefits package.
